Our Philosophy

Sunny Days is a program in which children are encouraged to be creative, expressive, independent and active participants of a team.  In addition to the academic skills necessary to prepare them for kindergarten, they will learn to share, get along with other children, take turns, and express themselves with respect toward their teachers and fellow playmates.

They will learn what acceptable behavior in a group setting is.  They will be allowed to develop and mature at their own rate within the boundaries of a loving Christian environment.

Many of these skills will be exercised and practiced in Circle Time.  The primary purpose of Circle Time is to develop listening skills, patience, respect for classmates, and self-control. Another purpose is to develop the children’s large and fine motor skills.  They will hop, skip, jump, crawl, sing, do finger plays, hand motions, etc.  They will learn songs to take home and share with their families.

Every Monday, we set aside ten minutes for Jesus Time. During this time, Pastor Jim shares God's love for the children and presents a short message. Some examples are found here.

Through Jesus Time we plant the seeds of faith and truth that will provide a strong moral foundation for our children.  “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)  Our status as a Christian pre-school allows us to say grace before snack time and include the Reason for the Season in telling the stories of Christmas and Easter.
