Our Teachers

Our teachers are the heart and soul of the program. They are experienced, warm and caring. The children (and the parents!) love them.


Audine Puckett has been teaching at Sunny Days since 1995. Audine loves children and brings her special talent for communicating and nurturing children to the job. She truly brings out the very best in every child. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Madonna College.Audine has over 20 years of experience as a preschool teacher including being Director of childcare at the YMCA, teaching Sunday school for preschoolers and vacation bible school.


Audine is certified in CPR and First Aid. She attends the MiAEYC annually in addition to many local continuing education programs. She has also been active in the community as a Girl Scout/Boy Scout leader and has had several years of experience on the PTO at both the elementary and middle school levels. She is married with three children and has lived in the area for over 17 years.



Mary Mancus
has been with Sunny Days since November, 2006. Mary loves working with children and shares her talents for planning educational and enjoyable arts and crafts activities for our students. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University. Mary is certified in CPR and First Aid. She also attends the MiAEYC annually in addition to many local continuing education programs. Mary taught preschool at the Rye Playschool located in Rye, New York from 1999 through 2002.



After relocating back to Grosse Pointe area in 2002, Mary’s children attended Sunny Days preschool for two years. During that time, Mary served as the Preschool’s Executive Board President. Mary grew up in this area and currently resides in Grosse Pointe Woods with her husband and their two daughters. Mary is an active volunteer and chairperson at Monteith School and is a volunteer for the Our Lady Star of the Sea Religious Education Program.
